Glycosaminoglycans are the molecules that give cartilage its structure, and glucosamine is the raw material the body uses to make them. In laboratory studies it also stimulates chondrocytes — the cells that build cartilage matrix — to step up proteoglycan production. And it feeds into the synovial fluid that lets the joint glide, which is why it sits at the centre of nearly every serious joint formula.
Cartilage works like a water-filled sponge between the bones. Chondroitin helps that matrix hold onto its water and works against the enzymes that break it down, so the cushion keeps doing its job.
Hyaluronic acid is what makes joint fluid thick and slippery. It's the difference between a joint that glides and one that grinds — and it's the part that thins out as dogs age.
MSM supplies organic sulphur, and sulphur bridges are what hold collagen fibres together. Without it the body has the blueprint for connective tissue but not the material.
Collagen can't be built without vitamin C — it's the cofactor the enzymes need. A small amount, but the rest of the formula is only useful if the body can actually process it.
ETA is a rare omega-3 found almost nowhere outside the New Zealand green lipped mussel. It dampens the COX and LOX pathways that drive joint inflammation — the inflammation behind the stiffness, the slow starts and the hesitation before the sofa.
Marine omega-3s shift the balance of fats the body uses to build signalling molecules, moving it away from the inflammatory side.
Yucca contributes saponins, long used in traditional herbal practice to ease inflammation. A supporting player in the formula, not a headline act.

How long until I see a difference?
